Living Grafted Tree Sculpture Classes I am currently offering workshops, seminars and classes in tree sculpture grafting to botanical gardens, arboretums, children and family gardens as well as other interested groups nationally. Workshops are prepared for all age groups and levels of horticultural understanding. Classes generally gather informally outside and discuss aspects of choosing the appropriate tree species to fit the particular design goals. Also considered is the timetable and what this means in nature. Environmental concerns including climate, site and soil are also discussed as well as basics of tree Botany and how grafting and pleaching occur. The project is considered an addition to an institution's on site exhibition inventory and offers hands on involvement both in the planting as well as during the demonstration of grafting methods and manipulation techniques. Rounding out the completion of the project in this early stage the participants are invited to consider the future growth of the project, to anticipate this and to think about the tree's growth response to the initial training.
